This Christmas we had a family reunion type adventure in Florida for my side of the family. My whole Dad’s side was there and we also got to see a good chunk of my Mom’s side (we missed you Ash and Brandon and your families! Next time for sure!) My Dad rented a condo on the beach in Destin and it was breathtaking. We were on the 14th floor (I couldn’t bring myself to go on the balcony, but the ocean was so pretty!)
Unfortunately the weather wasn’t our best friend, but we at least had one day pretty enough to go play in the ocean while we were there, and Bailey loved it! She is just like her Daddy, loving to swim π Β We bounced back and forth seeing everyone and had some awesome highlights! Christmas Eve we hung out with my Nana and Papa and everyone, and I loved it. Quality family time is the best! Bailey was loving all of the people…although after refusing her nap, she ended up pretty cranky, so we had to leave and get her ready for bed before everyone else left, but they know I love them!!! Then we had Christmas morning in the condo with Bailey and my family and then had an amazing Christmas dinner with my Uncle Paul and my Mema cooking. Boy was it delicious!!!!!!! Then the next day we went on a sunset cruise to celebrate my Mema and Pepa’s 50th wedding anniversary; a pretty amazing feat! It was once in a lifetime experience; having the whole Legge clan there and being on a beautiful yaht with amazing food and great company. It was wonderful. And Bailey was mrs queen B! She danced the night away on the dance floor…so flippin cute. We had such a great time in Florida. I had so many memories come back to me from when I was a kid, and being on the beach and walking to the bay by my Mema’s house, and talking on the porch with my Nana and mom….I made new memories to add to my childhood ones, this time with MY little family included. Truly a blessing for us to be able to make that trip π Hopefully once we are down in Houston, it will be easier to drive over and see the beach more often! I may not be a water person…but I love me some white sandy beaches π
Then we hurried back home to Houston for Austin’s wedding! He married Rhuvana in the Houston temple, and it was so awesome. I love both of them and I think they are perfect together. Austin was the baby of the crew, and I know he must be happy to have found his soul mate….so he won’t have to be the odd man out for family pictures anymore π (We took some awesome family pics of the whole Bertoch clan…once I get those I will do a post about it). Once the business of the wedding kinda died down, we were able to spend some good quality time with Adam’s family. Everyone was there, all his siblings and their families. It was busy!! But so great! I loved watching Bailey interact with her cousins and kids her same age. And she even owned the wedding dance floor at Austin and Rhuvana’s reception….this girl can dance! haha. I loved all the late night talks and laughs and walks around the cup de sac with the kiddos. We played some interesting games that’s for sure haha π
Now we are back in Lubbock (which had a record breaking blizzard while we were gone…go figure) and getting back into the swing of things π My belly has gotten even bigger over the break, so I am having to adjust to that too! Chasing Bailey is quite the adventure these days haha. She is growing up so much. She cut three molars in the last two weeks! (which explained some crankiness…) but I love her so much. I love watching her dance and mingle with people. She is such a happy little girl, and so affectionate. I am so blessed. She got a baby doll for Christmas and she is so gentle and caring and puts the baby to sleep with her little binky…so adorable! It makes me relieved and excited for when little Claire comes to the family. Bailey is going to be such a great big sister to her little sister π
I am so grateful that I was able to spend so much quality time with families from all sides and make some precious memories π It was a Christmas to remember.
These are our Bits O’ Bertoch.
