Looks like Bailey is going to have a little sister! Talk about double trouble…
I am really excited though, because I secretly wanted a girl for Bailey to have closest to her to be her partner in crime. Sisters rock πŸ™‚ Although, brothers bring something special as well. But we are planning on 4 kids, so we are bound to have a boy in the mix at some point haha.
But for right now we are soooo ecstatic to have another little girl! Claire Madelyn Bertoch πŸ™‚ (We kind of have a middle name pattern right now of all M names in our family) πŸ™‚

Our family has gone through quite the past couple of weeks! We went to about 5 fall carnival/trunk or treat type things with Bailey so that she could have a fun Halloween experience geared more for her younger age group. However, it pooped us out so much that we didnt feel like battling the masses on actual Halloween night so we stayed in and watched Halloween movies after Bailey went to bed. It was rather nice haha. But then crap hit the fan right after.
I got food poisoning. Like complete cleansing of my soul food poisoning lol. Then while I am recovering, Adam got a bad cold and was in bed for a day. Then Bailey got a really bad viral throat infection that caused her to have a temp of 102-104 for about 4 days. It was so bad. I felt so sad for her. She would whimper in the night and her fever would be so high even with Tylenol, that she would just sleep with us because I was worried about her getting a seizure like my little brother did when he was about her age. We went to Urgent Care on the first night (because apparently kids decide to get sick only on a weekend) and they thought she had a double ear infection and gave her antibiotics. But then something just didnt feel right with me and her condition never improved, and her pediatrician said it was viral pharyngitis and to get off the antibiotics and essentially wait to it out and monitor with tylenol. Sure enough, it cleared up after a few days. It broke my heart seeing her in so much and pain and being helpless to fix it πŸ™ She is better now with no fever or anything, although I think she is teething with her molars because she has been quite irritable, in an unusual way for her. So let’s hope that this storm cloud passes over us and our family will be free from sicknesses for at least a year! haha.

Then we got a short and sweet visit from Adam’s mom and Aunt Monica who were passing through on their way to Houston. I wish we could have seen them forever, but I am thankful for the time we had. I love them so much and their company πŸ™‚ And I know Bailey enjoyed some grandma time πŸ™‚ I wish we weren’t so far away from family in all directions.

We also got a fun new addition to our apartment; fish! Adam has been trying to convince me for the past 5 years that we should get a fish tank, and for whatever reason I just wasn’t into it. Then we went to walmart and saw some cool glow fish that Bailey would not pry herself from the glass for….so we decided to get a small tank with some glow fish barbs and tiger barbs. It was seriously one of the coolest purchases we have had in forever! It made our little apartment that much more cozy and homey. We have it sitting on our breakfast bar, in a perfect place for Bailey to have a chair and look at, without getting into the water or hurting herself. I love it. We even have names for them.Β So for the tiger ones we have two big ones and a small one. So we have Fred and George and Ron. From Harry Potter. Yes. Because the little one follows the big twins around and they like to give the other fish a run for their money. Then we got a little fish on accident while they were giving us the tiger ones; a little guppy who hides a lot. We named him Godzilla, for irony. The orange glo fish is Flash because it’s the fastest, the green one is Crouch (from Barty Crouch in Harry Potter) because it is so skittish all the time. And then the pink one we named Shondra (the writer from my show Greys Anatomy) because she is a diva and tries to bully everyone.
Let’s see how long they live πŸ˜‰

So now we are in November and gearing up for Thanksgiving. This will be our first Thanksgiving that we will be staying home and doing the cooking for, and I am actually pretty excited about it! I am excited to start doing new family tradition πŸ™‚ We will be having it with Chris and Heather, so that will be a lot of fun πŸ™‚

We are just making it day to day and enjoying what comes our way πŸ™‚
