Summer is here and it is beautiful and hot! Although I have to say, after the crazy thunderstorms and flooding we have had in Texas and areas here in Lubbock…I will take the beautiful heat. I do not do well with weather pressure….we had a tornado watch and flash flood warnings for a few days and I pretty much went into crazy mode and got blankets and pillows to camp out in the laundry room, and packed a huge emergency bag full of baby things and canned food just in case. Smart to have, yes…but not when I act crazy haha thankfully Adam is calm for the both of us.
But we are safe and sound and things are back to beautiful clear skies, a summer breeze, and hot dry heat.
Adam’s program runs during the summer, so he had about a week or two of a break from school (not from his work or therapy jobs though) and now he is back in the thick of things and pulling 12 hours days since he goes work-school-internship. He is a busy boy! But we are grateful for him š
While Adam is saving the world, one client as a time….Bailey and I are having some summer fun! I signed us up for Parent and Me swim lessons and it has been really awesome. It is every morning for 2 weeks at the campus leisure pool for ages 6 months-3 years old. It is an introductory type of class, she won’t be in lessons where they teach her who to actually swim until she is 3. But she loves the water! It shouldn’t surprise me since Adam is pretty much a fish with his swimming skills. The different activities they do include learning how to making swimming motions, kicking legs, reach for something in the water, climb up on the ledge to get out, and get used to the feeling of going under water. Bailey is a champ! She kicks and moves her arms and does so well with dunking. That is the part I was afraid of for her, the dunking part, but she doesn’t even cry. I can tell when it is not a fun dunk and she has swallowed some water and she is done haha but she usually does well and even tries to blow bubbles in the water sometimes. I cant believe how comfortable she is with the water! I may need to permanently fasten a life jacket on her for my own sanity haha.
I am glad that we have these classes though. It has been fun getting out in the morning to do something fun and new. Adam was able to come once or twice to watch before heading to work and I know Bailey loved seeing him there š
Bailey is my little partner in crime. She is so fun. I tried signing her up for some other local classes of activities for her age, but dang they filled up fast! Oh well, park hopping and pool time it is! haha. Thankfully Adam is able to enjoy his weekends, and we make sure to jam it full of family time š
Summer has been a blast so far, specially with my little sun kissed baby š She is growing up so fast. She says thank you pretty regularly now and knows how to use it properly, which is just adorable. She understands what “going bye bye” means and will get her shoes and give them to me to put them on her. She says “here you go” when she hands me them too. She said “please” for the first time yesterday; she doesn’t know how to use it, but just repeating it made me happy haha. She knows how to say “yes,” although she is still learning how to use it; she will usually just say it as an opposite of no haha. She eats everything I put in front of her, and knows how to say “all done.” Her sense of humor is so cute, I love the random things that get her gut busting, which is usually when daddy makes a funny face š
Oh and I got some really awesome pictures from my Mema (grandma): One of her and I as a baby, and one of my Pepe (great grandfather) when I was a baby š
