This semester has started in full swing for Adam! Between working, giving therapy, attending classes, and participating in research….it’s safe to say he is busy! But he is taking everything in stride and doing so good! I love him so much for having the ambition to do something he loves and working hard toย provide for our family ๐ Bailey definitely keeps me busy too!
Although Lubbock had a cold spell for a while, so the park has been Bailey-less, which makes everyone sad! So we were both getting some cabin fever….but thankfully the sun is starting to rise and shine and the parks are attended by Bailey yet again ๐
My Mom (Bailey’s Nana) was able to come to Lubbock this last week! I had been counting down for months and months for her to be here!! Ive missed her so much! It was so amazing. We showed her some good southern BBQ at Rudys, and a local favorite dessert spot The Chocolate Mousse Pie Bar. So Yummy! She spoiled us so much ๐ And she even taught me how to make her chocolate chip cookies! For those of you that don’t know….my mom makes the worlds best chocolate chip cookies. I am not even a little bit exaggerating. The best cookie I have ever tasted. It is the perfect blend between sweet and salty, and crunchy and soft. MMMMMMM. And they are even better the next day, if there are any left haha. For years I have been so frustrated that I could not replicate them…and even though I don’t think anyone will ever truly 100% replicate it…I got it pretty darn close ๐ It only took me watching my mom do 2 batches, and her watching me do 3 batches haha. My freezer is nice and full of my mom’s cookie dough. MMM. So yes. Pretty epic moment for me to learn her recipe ๐
Bailey loves her Nana and warmed up to her super quick. We have been FaceTimeing all the time, so she recognized her ๐
It was a wonderful yet short week with my mom. We went to the park, shopping, and she babysat Bailey so Adam and I could do an endowment session in the Lubbock Temple, which was so amazing. I love going to the temple. Best place on earth!
We went to Maxey Park to feed the ducks…and a goose attacked my mom! It was going straight for her leg (and she was holding Bailey!) and it was terrifying! I had a whole loaf of bread from the dollar store and I ended up just chucking whole slices so we could make a fast getaway! haha we couldn’t stop laughing about it.
My mom and I laughed and laughed and caught up on things in our lives and others that we both know and it was just so wonderful. I felt like a teenager again sitting on my bed with my mom and talking for hours and hours about life. ๐ I love her so much and it was so hard dropping her off at the airport! But I know we will see each other soon ๐ So until next time ๐
Bailey is 9 months now and she even took her first 2 steps while my mom was here! It is only a matter of time before her little tushy is up and walking/running. She keeps me on my toes and I love it. She is such a curious, friendly little girl. At the park she just bursts to go play with the other kids. I know she will always have friends wherever she goes ๐ She is eating more grown up food and it is so exciting. She loooove string cheese and bread haha those Italian roots run deep ๐ Her Pop Pop (my dad) would be proud! She doesnt have any teeth yet, but we have started brushing her little gums with an electric tooth brush because she kept watching Adam and I with ours. She loves it! Every night after her bath she opens her little mouth and lets me brush it. So adorable! She is not a fan of snow though haha we had some now while my mom was here and she was fascinated by it, but when she touched it and felt the cold…she was over it lol. I cant blame her….not a huge fan of cold myself!
What cracks me up is she has started the “tuning out” phase…..when spongebob or cartoons are on…you can be right in her face and she will move her head to see the tv and look past you haha what have I done!! It’s so funny though lol.
We are doing great and are enjoying the sunshine and family time when we can ๐
