So this last was the 4th of July and it was pretty fun this year 🙂 There was a big parade with it seemed like everyone in the city, and they even had a float that said “In Memory of our God” with a temple. I thought that was really awesome. I don’t think God is mentioned or worshiped as much as He deserves and it makes me sad.
It was so hot outside though! Poor little Bailey was getting so hot, even though we had her in the shade the whole time or in the cover of her stroller. We ended up watching Danny’s All Star baseball game and that was cool that we were able to support him in that. He had a double play! He caught it in center field and then threw it to second for a tag out. It was awesome…even if we were baking in the heat. lol. When we got home, I felt that Bailey may have gotten a bit burned even in the shade, so we lathered her up in Aloe Vera, put some diluted lavender essential oil on her, and put a cool cloth on her and gave her some tylenol. (By the next day she was great!)
The night of the 4th we watched fireworks from our driveway because we didn’t want to fight the crows or have to load Bailey up again in her carseat, but it was neat that we had so many neighbors around us lighting them off.
Last night my mom lit a fire in the backyard and we roasted marshmallows and lit sparklers and smoke bombs and those little things that you throw at the ground that pop….yeah adam and danny had a fight with those while Bailey and I watched haha. (Or…while I threw them and they couldn’t get me because I was holding Bailey…) But we had a great time 🙂 It was nice seeing everyone being patriotic, I miss seeing that. When you’re used to living on a military base, people are patriotic almost everyday it seems because loved ones are out fighting the fight, so gratitude for freedom is never far from the mind. I miss those days. I do love this country and enjoy the many freedoms that we are privileged to have.
haha okay so this face she is making because Adam and I thought we saw something weird on the inside of her gums haha but it was just a normal ridge. This is her pressed against the side of my face as we try to get the unsuccessful pic lol.
These are our Bits O’ Bertoch.
