Target Ultrasound at 21.5 Weeks!

So this morning Adam and I went to our big ultrasound that they usually do around 20ish weeks, just to make sure things are growing as they should. It was such a wonderful experience! Our tech measured everything from parts of the brain to her little femur. It is so neat to be able to see the different parts of the brain, to see the 4 chambers of the heart, and to even see the little fingers and toes. Little Bailey was sprawled out (which also explains why I have been feeling her wiggle and kick like crazy!) and when the tech did the 4d ultrasound part, she was sucking her thumb!!! It was adorable! Haha the tech even played around and tried to wiggle her hand out of her mouth with some bumps, and she would go right back to sucking on it again haha. I sucked my thumb when I was a baby, so we shall see hahah it seems like she takes after her mama though πŸ˜‰ She also had such a cute little button nose and tons of energy! She was so wiggly and fidgety, the tech was trying to get a consistent heart beat to measure things and she kept moving and causing muffling haha of course I was freaking out until she explained that it was only because Bailey was moving so much. We eventually got her heart beat (which was 141) and she was healthy! Our tech was training an intern during our session, so she went in depth on each organ and how it looks and what abnormalities they usually look for etc. I enjoyed it πŸ™‚ Then the tech printed out some pictures of our baby’s organs and heart chamber to give to the intern as a reference for what a normal baby looks like and she was comparing with diff ultrasounds with abnormalities haha it was pretty cool to be the textbook answer πŸ˜‰ Bailey weighs a pound and is right on track for our April 19-20 due date πŸ™‚

Normally I am not a fan of the 4d pictures….but I gotta admit she looks so cute!!!!
