Horseshoe Bay Resort in Texas

So for spring break in between semesters, Adam’s parents gathered the whole family for a last family vacation before Austin leaves for his Brazilian mission on May 1. It was seriously so amazing. Much needed relaxation time for sure! We had the full spa treatment. I had to convince Adam and Austin it wasnt super girly, and they loved it haha. We also had tons of lounging by the pool (John, Austin, Adam, and I had some funny ridiculous games we would play, including harmonizing under water hahah) We went wave running, the boys def loved it, but I preferred being on land with the babies haha. Monopoly games were played and Austin kicked butt at all of them, and he was generous…not crazy like me haha. We also took some family pictures of everyone before Austin left 🙂 Once we returned to Adam’s house we were also able to hang out with Chris and Heather, which is always a treat. They are the coolest couple ever. The trip was def too short. I could have stayed basking in the sun forever! Plus I am going to miss Austin a ton, but he will do amazing on his mission and I look forward to hearing all about it.

But now we are back to the grind stone with work and school. Thankfully Adam has a smaller load than last semester and can have a bit of a breather haha although I must say I am soooo proud of him for getting straight A’s last semester. My man is smart! haha. I think this semester will still be fun 🙂 My sister is back here at school and the sunshine should be coming our way, so life will be fun 🙂

Rocky Mountain Psychological Association Convention

So before our trip to Texas (a blog post of that will be coming soon) Adam was in Denver to present his theoretical research paper “Addressing the Problem of Self-Centeredness in Marriage.” He went down with his mentor Brady Wiggins, who was a faculty member in the psych department at BYU-Idaho. While Adam was there attending the convention and other presentations, he also attended a leadership training for PSI CHI – The International Honor Society in Psychology. He was gone for 5 days and then I met him in Texas. I def missed him, but I am so proud of the work that he has done with this research and the effort and heart that I know went into it. Adam was the lead author of this paper at the convention and this paper is in the process of becoming published. For publishing, Adam will be mentioned as one of the authors.

He did great during the question and answering for his portion of presenting, and as usual, was cool as a cucumber and knew his stuff 😉 I am so proud to be married to a man who values marriage and who is doing such great things in his scholarly career 🙂

P.S. Oh and Adam tried some cool ethnic food while he was there, jealous!

East Idaho Kids Fair!

So this morning I went with Shae and her adorable little girl Trinnity to the Kids Fair in Idaho Falls before work. Trinnity loved just walking around looking at everything. She was a bit scared of Blues Clues and Dora the Explorer that was there, but she got an adorable little bracelet…she is def a girly girl looking for accessories 😉 That’s my kind of girl! Haha. Trinn was nervous about getting her face painted, so Shae and I got our painted! Presh. Seriously though, it was awesome being able to hang out with Shae outside of work and kick it for a while 🙂

Research and Creative Works Conference in Rexburg

Today Adam presented his paper “Addressing the Problem of Self-Centeredness in Marriage” that he has been working on with a BYU-Idaho professor and a Marriage and Family Therapy Researcher. BYU-Idaho campus held its first Research and Creative Works Conference, which allowed Adam to present his paper to his fellow psych peers before presenting at the Rocky Mountain Psychological Association in Denver, Colorado next week.
Adam has been researching and working hard in this directed topic for quite some time, so he is excited and ready to present it further to the public.
I couldn’t be more proud. 🙂

Easter 2012!

For Easter this year Adam and I were able to go visit with my family in Utah 🙂 I was lucky enough to be able to get off work early on Saturday and spend a little extra time than we had planned. It was a fun packed couple of days! We painted Easter eggs, had a good day at Church, searched for Easter eggs, and played a round of family hit and run. Hit and run has been a Legge family game since as far back as I can remember.

Here is how to play:

The batting order starts from youngest to oldest, so Danny would always go first, then Aj, Celine, Me (Cass) Mom, then Dad. Those of us that weren’t batting would be in the field. I usually took second base, Aj usually took first or short stop, Celine would usually play third, Dad would always pitch, and we would all switch out outfield as we needed to. When we were batting, we would get 2 warm up hits, then we would throw to first, second, third, and home (so four total hits of the ball in play) and then on the last hit we ran and the rest of us in the field would have to field the ball to try to get them out. Then the next person would be up to bat. It has been a family tradition and one of my absolute favorites. Danny is big enough now to not have to be protected behind the home plate fence 😉

I actually found some old pics of us playing hit and run in Verona in Italy as a family, plus a pic of us kids all decked out in our baseball gear quite a few years ago. Some things never change 😉
