I was lucky enough to have time off work to be able to go home for Thanksgiving 🙂 Celine and her roommate came down too, so we were all one big family. It was nice to have everyone home. We had a great time. We had tons of food, I even brought 3 pumpkin pies (that I made myself thank you very much) and a batch of avocado egg salad for left over turkey sandwiches 🙂
Unfortunately, I did end up getting a bit sick as well. The gallbladder attack I had had before about a month or so ago flared back up from eating all of the delicious fatty foods. It was pretty painful, but I did about every remedy I could think of: alka seltzer, pepto bismol, hot baths, and a mixture of apple cider vinegar and apple juice. I dont know which one worked, but the next day I was back on my feet….but I was pretty much done with the yummy thanksgiving food until next year haha.
We also tried participating in Black Friday, just for fun, and it was not so fun. We were going to wait until midnight and get some good sales….but we decided not to fight the crowds and just try our chance on whatever was left the next day. Adam and I ended up finding a great deal on some Reebok cold weather running clothes. We tested them a bit in Utah, it was awesome. I even met my goal that I set: I ran 5 miles straight without stopping, and I did so in 43 minutes and 45 seconds. Not to bad for my first 5 mile run I must say! It was actually right when my gallbladder was flaring up too, so I was surprised I actually did it! Adam ran his 3 miles (without getting out of breath I might add) and was cheering me on 🙂 I love that Adam and I have such an amazing hobby that not only brings us together, but makes us healthy 🙂
My parents also had gotten a pool table for the “man cave” downstairs. It was so much fun! We played various games as a family: killer, 9 ball, and pea pool. Adam and I as a team werent so bad 😉 Not to mention, the man cave also had black ops 2…which of course means we had marathons of bot killing! I am not too bad I must say…..but dont let me on xbox live just yet…haha.
Overall it was a great break, specially for Adam. He has been working so hard in his classes and applying to grad school. He deserved some relaxing time for sure 🙂 We even put up our Christmas tree 🙂 It was a great Thanksgiving 🙂
P.S. We got a pics from the rest of Adam’s family about their thanksgiving 🙂 It was nice to feel like we were all a part of it together!
