Nothing Like a Good Busy Week!

So this past week has been pretty intense! The most amazing news would be that Ally and John had their first baby boy! Brayden!!!! He was 7 pounds 10 ounces and was just the cutest thing I had ever seen! He ended up coming early on Thursday Feb 16, instead of the scheduled date for Monday. Ally was a trooper! She did so well and is now recovering slowly but surely. We picked up Adam’s mom Stacey at the airport literally an hour before Brayden was born. We stayed outside until we heard that sweet little cry and we saw him getting checked and cleaned up. It was such a sweet experience. John was a proud daddy for sure! It def made me get baby fever haha but we will still be waiting a while…right now I can just love on Brayden with all I have!

Then Friday Adam and I headed down to Utah to visit my family for the holiday weekend since there was no classes on Monday. We had a blast! It was nice to just go home and spend time with family and catch up and stuff. We got to see my little brother Aj own in his basketball league, that kid will be big stuff one day, you wait! Danny had back surgery for a birthmark that was a little dangerous and he had a wicked wound full of stitches. He was healing well and def willing to hang with the big kids! Celine and I were able to talk about our health journeys and different workouts that are super intense! She is a sprinter on her high school track team and is great at it! It was just so nice to come home and be able to relax, be in the hot tub, spend quality time, and be able to take a break from my crazy school routine! I also needed a bigger change, so I got my hair cut. 6 inches off! It was huge for me since the last time I cut my hair that much, I was probably in middle school! Haha. It was a change, but I loved it! And thankfully Adam does too 😉

Life is just going good and busy now. We are back in Rexburg and enjoy seeing little Brayden and Stacey while she is here helping Ally and John. Midterms are this week and snow is coming and going, icing up the roads. Just another week haha.

Roses are Red, Violets are Blue, My Husband is Sweet, And I love him too!

So this has been the best Valentines Day I have ever had, not gunna lie 🙂 I have 7:45 classes that I wake up for at 7:10, and Adam secretly set his alarm to wake up 15 minutes before mine so that he could present me with breakfast in bed, and serenade me with a sweet song on the guitar. For someone who doesn’t have to wake up that early…that’s love! And not only that, but he went out early and dusted off my truck from snow and left me a love note in snow on his car 🙂

Then when I get home from my classes for the day, I was surprised by the most beautiful arrangement of flowers and an “I love you” balloon and a nice sparkly “be mine” stand. The note on the arrangement of flowers made me sound like one big “awwwwwww” and I flooded him with a million Cassie kisses.

After the kisses we got ready and had a romantic lunch date at my favorite place ever-Olive Garden! We had the best splurging of amazing foods and cheesecakes and headed home to digest.

We had a nice long cuddle session 😉 and then decided to go to this free fitness class on campus that was basically a kickboxing/circuit training class. It kicked out butts! Then we did a nice mile long walk on the indoor track just talking and enjoying eachothers company.

When arriving home, Adam let me have a chick flick night and we cuddled up and watched Fever Pitch. (I had to at least pick a movie that would have some boy comedy and not so much of the chick flicky part haha).

It was the best Valentines Day ever! Seriously, being married to Adam is the best you guys.

5K For the Win!

Our wellness program on campus decided to have a Valentine 5K that couples could do tied together for fun. Since Adam and I have been on such a good roll with our journey of health…and neither of us had ever done a 5K, we signed up. It was awesome! I had never run that much without being on a treadmill, and Adam told me he has never run that long without stopping. Today all that changed. Not only did we finish the 5K, we never stopped! The entire time! And we were tied together, which I think helped us to not fall behind and helped us work together. It was such an amazing feeling to finish the 17 laps around the track in 36:25 minutes! Adam has been telling me all week that he was worried about it taking us like an hour and being in last place…yeah. We were def not in last place, and def well under an hour. 5K for the win! Our 5K journey will not stop here. We will be on the lookout for more 5K’s in the future to get an even better time 🙂 I love my amazing husband and that we push eachother and are trying to be healthy together 🙂

Capsulizing Time

So Adam and I decided to make a time capsule! We have been married about 6 months ish and we thought it would be cool to capture time as it is right now and see what life is like when we open it in 5-10 years. Pretty crazy! We knew we wanted something small that we could travel and/or hide easily as we wont be tempted to open it. Then we wrote a letter to eachother, a combined letter from us to our future kids, a current events sheet that tells random facts of things going on right now, and a picture or two from this past year. Then we sealed it up and now we wait. Haha we are pretty excited to open that in a few years and see how different everything is. It was kind of a cute newly wed idea, and I think everyone should do it cuz it is neat 🙂

It’s a Wonderful Life

Adam went to Texas this past week to go to a tactical pistol training course. He went to a place called Thunder Ranch and learned things like clearing rooms, stairways, hallways, and how to improve aim and trigger manipulation. I love seeing him get so excited and retain so much information. He gained so much knowledge! We went shooting today so he could show me some of the things he learned and he was hitting small targets around 50 yards away with just one bullet! Not to mention we put up a line of targets and he did some speed shooting and he hit every. single. one. I am so proud of my sexy protecting husband! I would pity anyone who tries to break into our home lol. Here are some pics from his trip 🙂

Since being home I have even tried some baking skills haha. I love to cook but have never been much of a baker…til now! lol I have been making some healthy things 🙂 I made whole wheat bread dough for pizza from scratch, whole wheat zucchini bread from scratch, and some avocado spread that was soo yummy! I love cooking and baking so much! Adam and I have been trying to be more healthy and we are still on our journey! We go to the gym everyday, we have a 5K next Saturday, and Adam and I have both dropped sizes in pants! It is such a cool experience to grow and get healthier together 🙂

It’s a wonderful life 🙂
