Caution: Contains Warm Cheese

So I have some warm cheese to post this time. (For those who have no idea what I am talking about can go into my previous posts and look at the one labeled “warm cheese.”)

So Adam is in Texas this week, he is doing a tactical training pistol class with his dad. I am excited for him because I know he is going to have so much fun….but I will still miss him! I am so blessed that this will be the longest so far we will have been apart since even being engaged. Now, I dont do very well by myself, so my best friend Merinda is living with me this week 🙂 So while he is getting some cool boy time…I can get some juicy girl time too. haha.

So he left today while I was in my classes….and I came home to the house clean, trash taken out….and tons of stickies everywhere! He had left me sticky notes on particular items in our apartment and wrote a reason why he loved me on each one of them. He is so freakin adorable! And he knows I am a romantic sap haha.

Everyone I am sorry…..I have the best husband ever on this planet!!!!!!! I am going to miss him tonnnns this week….but it will be a good week still 🙂

I love you so much babe! (insert warm cheese here)

p.s. we decided to have a mini Martinelli glass to toast on the night before he left…we have one more for the night he comes home 😉

My Executive Decision

…with help from others.

This has been a very rough week for me. With my classes picking up and waking up early and doing all of my homework and such, the last thing I want to deal with is things going haywire at work. I have been trying my HARDEST to learn everything I can, and I realized that the person before me had this job 40 hours a week, 8 hours a day…and I was trying to do everything in 10 hours a week and 2 hours a day. I was drowning. I felt a bit misguided in what my work load was going to be. I had sooo many responsibilities and I was trying so hard to get everything right. My boss was probably the scariest boss I have ever had in my life…and I have had some interesting bosses. I came home from work almost in tears and emotional rattled everyday. I wouldnt want to do my hw! I am so close to graduation that I cant afford to let my grades suffer. I know Adam has been actively looking for a job, and I know he felt so bad for me coming home everyday miserable and emotional exhausted. I couldnt do it anymore…it wasnt worth it.

So I decided to quit.

I had such an ethical dilemma going on inside my head. I am not a quitter….not with things like work or school…(piano may have gone by the wayside…*cough*) but with this kind of thing, I NEVER give up. It was gut wrenching because I just felt like I was drowning and having anxiety every night about if I got everything done…at work! Not even at school! I was thinking more about work than anything else…and I knew if I stayed any longer, my grades would suffer. Credit load, this is probably going to be one of the toughest semesters because of all the upper classes I am taking.

I had a conversation with my dad and it helped me so much. He told me to prioritize the right things in my life and that quitting a losing team, is really winning. Adam was telling me too that he respects the people who know when it is better for them to walk away….

So I am now done with the Rexburg Standard Journal. I worked my last day today other than a day of training for whoever they decide to replace me with. It was so scary telling my boss. (Adam came with me so she wouldnt freak out…and believe it or not she was the nicest I have probably ever seen her been…haha…I saw this woman chew out a man who wanted to quit because his mom was possibly dying…yeah…needless to say I was a little bit clammy going into her office). But I did it!

Tonight I have had the most wonderful evening with my husband all cuddled up on the couch continuing our Harry Potter marathon. I even have all of my homework done. I am not looking back. I learned so many things already from this experience and what I should and shouldnt have to deal with.

And on the upside…it taught me to organize even more! I didnt know that was possible haha! Im expecting some high GPA numbers this semester 🙂

Thank you to all those who supported me in this decision. I will sleep good tonight.

Bring it on!

So this semester has started with a bang! Between a full class load and working part time, you really learn how to manage your time! I have never been much of an expert on managing time, but I tell you what…I am now getting the hang of it! Secretly I like being busy….but dont tell Adam that…haha he sees me come home all tired and is sad for me…but I thrive on it lol. Adam has been applying to many jobs and a couple have been a maybe so we shall see! He is pretty excited. We still go to the gym together when I get home from work and that is so nice. I enjoy that time with him when we work out, it’s the similar feeling of being on a sports team and having such a good support system. 🙂

He has also been the best husband ever by cleaning and cooking alot more while I am busy or come home super tired…I love him so much!

Well, so far we have survived week one without going crazy, and I even get 7 hours of sleep a night…who knew??? Haha I also just got my next birth control shot….this should be fun for the next week…haha.

Bring it on Winter 2012 semester. Bring. It. On.

my school schedule in case you were curious. Then I go to work for a couple hours, then we go to the gym together and then go home and I do my homework! Whew! If this isnt preparing me to be that awesome soccer mom I wanna be, I dont know what else is! haha.

Christmas, New Years, and the Fun in Between

So this Christmas break has been such an amazing one! We went to Texas and spent some good quality time with Adam and his family. They are so awesome. We were able to have everyone home for this Christmas. All the kids and their wives and children (and the ones along the way….Ally and Hill’s babies!) were all able to be there. We had many laughs and memories. We went to John’s house in Cameron on the farm and shot some pretty awesome guns, we put on our serious game faces and played many tournaments of Black Ops (yes…..I am now a Black Ops player….you can thank Adam and Austin….so much for life! hahah jk). We indulged in some amazing holiday goodies by Stacey and helped spread her holiday cheer with others with yummy deliveries 🙂 The girls all had a girls morning and we went and got a pedicure 🙂 Afterwards, I went to my first firing range and we all shot the new .22 pistols that the boys got for Christmas. Adam of course shot bulls eyes pretty much every shot, but I didnt do to bad either! I had a few that hit the bulls eye once I got my groove 🙂 The new Kinect game for the XBOX was something we were happy to partake in because it is so flippin fun! We played bowling and beach volleyball and tennis….right in the living room…and let me tell you…we were breaking a sweat! It was so wonderful to be around his family and spend some time with them. We love them so much. 🙂

Then we headed to my house in Utah for New Years! We had a blast! We have a tradition of Raclette and Fondue every year. Raclette is a European holiday meal where you gather with friends and family and leisurely eat some amazing cheese, bread, potatoes and prosciutto. In the middle of the table you have your raclette machine, which has a hot plate on the top to toast bread and such, and underneath is almost like a little oven type warming device where you put your plate of cheese underneath to melt and pour onto your potatoes. Raclette cheese is used because it melts and slides right off the tray and has the perfect blend of taste with your potatoes and prosciutto. It is such a fun tradition, and I cannot wait until we have our own raclette set up 🙂
Then we had fondue! We have two pots going, one with Swiss Fondue Cheese, and the other with melted Chocolate. We have a spread of bread, apples, and sometimes bananas. It is impossible to have just one bite…I promise…I’m living proof…(Half a loaf of bread later…haha jk) It is such a fun tradition as well, and we enjoy trying to not drop our bread or apples in the bottom of the pot.

Then we ended the night and started the new year in our hot tub with sparkling apple juice and family. Adam and I were able to kiss at midnight on new years for the first time and we talked about the upcoming year and all we hope to accomplish. I am so thankful for my friends and family and their love and support for us. This past year has been so amazing, and I cannot wait to start this new adventure in 2012 with the love of my life.
